Don’t blame the butter for what the bread did!

A little peak inside my kitchen cupboards…

A little peak inside my kitchen cupboards…

Inspired by my mothers personal research and my own journey, I have come to realize that a low/no (I’m trying!) sugar and mostly Ketogenic Lifestyle, combined with Intermittent Fasting, leaves me feeling full of energy and feeling very healthy.
My Fiancée on the other hand is one of the most active people I know. Partially, due to his profession however mostly because of his nature. He was just born with the urge to be active. As a result, he needs carbohydrates, the less carbs I eat, he makes up for both of us. Many of my recipes will be low carb but easy to serve with carbs or are extra extra high in protein and fat to make up for the missing quick energy supply.
If we do eat carbohydrates, they very rarely contain gluten as my fiancé is gluten intolerant.
However, fear not.
We both love bread and I will soon share a recipe for the best low carbohydrate, gluten and sugar free, bread rolls ever to roll the planet.

Also as a result of my Mothers vast nutritional knowledge, the only oils and fats I cook with are coconut oil, olive oil, butter and ghee and only ever organic.

My mostly used spices and flavours would have to be, salt (Pink Lake River Murray), pepper, garlic, nutmeg, parsley, oregano, coriander, cinnamon, lemon, ginger, turmeric, cumin, cardamon, bay leaves and cloves.
I definitely cannot live without organic beef bone broth or organic vegetable stock. Either homemade or good quality powder/cubes have never let me down.

That’s about it.

Oh and chili. I love chili – the spicier the better. My fiancé on the other hand does not like to breath fire, so most of the time I just throw literally heaps of dried chili on to my plate.

Now that really is it I think.
Set yourself up with these essentials and you should be able to follow pretty much all of my recipes.

Much love
